Vegan Chocolate Cake

Imagine eating a fluffy chocolate cake, but healthy because it is VEGAN. It contains no eggs or milk, and I dare say it tastes better than traditional ones. Try it for yourself!

  • 2 1/2 cups flour, (if you want to use gluten-free flour)
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar, refined
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla essence
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 1/2 cups coconut milk, soy or oat
  • 2 tablespoons white vinegar
  • 1/2 cups apple purée
  • 1/3 cups sunflower oil
  • 1 salt

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  • Grease a cake pan using vegetable oil. Then flour it perfectly, covering all the sides of the pan.
  • In a bowl, first mix the dry ingredients: flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, and salt.
  • In another bowl, mix the applesauce, sunflower oil, vinegar, vanilla extract, and coconut or soy milk.
  • Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients, whisk vigorously until a thick mixture forms.
  • Pour the batter into the cake pan, bake for 30 minutes at 180°C or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • Remove from the oven, let it cool for 10 minutes before cutting.
  • Dust with powdered sugar and serve.
