Seed Brittle

Prepare these delicious brittles with toasted peanuts, pumpkin seeds, and sunflower seeds; coated in delicious caramel. They are a great option for Día de Muertos or simply for an afternoon craving.

  • 1 cup peanuts
  • 1/2 cups pumpkin seeds
  • 1/2 cups sunflower seeds
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/4 cups water

  • Toast the seeds over low heat in a griddle or pan to release their aroma. Set aside.
  • In a deep pan or pot, heat the sugar with the water over low heat and let it boil until it turns amber.
  • Incorporate the seeds and mix very well. Pour the mixture onto a baking sheet with a silicone mat and spread it out with the help of a rolling pin.
  • Let the mixture dry for about 20 minutes or until the caramel is hard. Cut and serve.
