These delicious semi-sweet chocolate tartlets are delightful. This recipe includes the tart shell recipe, but if you buy them pre-made, the filling is very easy.
Start by making the tart shell: Using an electric mixer, beat the flour, sugar, and salt. Add the butter and the egg yolk and beat until you have a crumbly dough.
Grease 8 tartlet molds and sprinkle with flour. Divide the dough into 8 and place a ball in each mold. Flatten the ball with your hands and use your fingers to shape the edges of the tartlet. Prick the bottom of each tartlet with a fork a little.
Preheat the oven to 200°C and bake the tartlets for 19 minutes or until golden.
To make the chocolate filling: In a saucepan, bring the heavy cream to a boil. Once it boils, remove from heat and add the chocolate. Whisk until the chocolate has melted.
Add the egg and whisk with a balloon whisk.
Pour the filling into the tartlets and bake at 180 degrees for 15-20 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 2-3 minutes before serving.
