Tamarind Margarita

Cinco de Mayo is fast approaching and there’s nothing better to celebrate than a tasty twist on the classic! The mouthwatering combination of tamarind, Tequila, and piquín chile will take you straight to cocktail heaven. Getting these tamarind margaritas ready to celebrate this Mexican holiday is easier than pie!

  • 1 lime, cut into thin strips
  • 1/2 cups tamarind syrup
  • 1/2 cups Herradura® Tequila
  • 2 tablespoons piquín chile
  • salt, for the rim
  • 1 cup ice cubes

  • Rub a quarter of a lime around the rim of each glass until wet.
  • Arrange a bed of salt on a plate. Dip each glass into the salt to create an even salt rim.
  • In a blender, combine ice cubes, Tequila, and tamarind syrup and blend until smooth.
  • Add piquín chile.
  • Serve tamarind margarita in salt-rimmed glasses.
