  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cups onion
  • 2 tablespoons garlic, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cups celery
  • 1 kilo ground duck meat
  • 1/4 cups walnuts, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cups cranberries
  • salt and pepper
  • 3/4 cups whipping cream
  • water
  • 3 sweet potatoes, peeled, cubed
  • 1/2 cups butter
  • 2 cups whipping cream
  • 1 orange
  • cinnamon powder
  • nutmeg
  • salt and pepper

  • Melt the butter in a skillet, add the onion, garlic, and celery, and cook for 3 minutes. Incorporate the ground turkey and cook for 7 minutes. Add the walnuts, cranberries, salt, pepper, and heavy cream. Set aside.
  • Place the sweet potato in a pot with water and cook for 40 minutes or until well cooked and soft. Drain, place in a pot and add the butter, heavy cream, orange zest, ground cinnamon, nutmeg, salt and pepper. Mash and mix until you achieve a smooth puree.
  • Place the ground turkey in a greased baking dish with butter. Add the sweet potato puree, covering the meat completely.
  • Bake the turkey pie at 180 °C for 20 minutes or until the puree is slightly golden.
  • Serve the turkey and sweet potato pie hot.
