Cheese Dip Ball

This soccer ball filled with bacon dip with chorizo, cream cheese, green onion stalks, yellow corn, the spicy touch of jalapeño pepper, the saltiness of Cotija cheese, black beans, red onion, seasoned with onion powder and garlic, is absolutely spectacular.

  • 1 cup bacon, fried
  • 1 cup chorizo, fried
  • 3 cups cream cheese, in cubes
  • 1/4 cups green onion stalks, chopped
  • 1 cup yellow corn kernels
  • 1/2 cups Jalapeño chile
  • 1 cup Cotija cheese, crumbled
  • 1/2 cups black beans, cooked
  • 1/4 cups red onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 pinch salt and pepper
  • 1 cup cream cheese
  • Manchego cheese, in thin hexagonal slices
  • black sesame seeds, to cover the ball
  • saltine crackers, to accompany

  • For the dip, in a bowl, mix some fried bacon with chorizo, cream cheese, green onion stalks, yellow corn, jalapeño pepper, Cotija cheese, black beans, red onion, and season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper to taste. In a bowl lined with plastic, place the dip and form a ball, set aside in the refrigerator.
  • On a non-stick plastic board, form a layer of cream cheese with a spatula, place your dip ball, and wrap with plastic to keep the outside white. Refrigerate again.
  • On the board, cut hexagons and pentagons of cheese, place them over the cheese dip, shaping it like a ball, and fill the gaps with black sesame seeds. Serve with crackers and finely chopped parsley to simulate grass.
