Easy Tuna Fritters

Traditional recipe for crispy and flavorful fried fish fritters, filled with Atún Dolores® Yellowfin Tuna in Oil, sautéed with tomato, onion, garlic, cilantro, and a touch of cumin to enhance the flavor. These fritters are the perfect appetizer to accompany with a bit of spicy sauce. Prepare them, they are super easy to make.

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 cups garlic, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cups onion, finely chopped
  • 1 cup tomato, without skin and chopped
  • 1/4 cups serrano chile, finely chopped
  • 4 cans Atún Dolores® yellow fin tuna in oil, drained
  • 2 leaves bay
  • 1/4 cups fresh cilantro, finely chopped
  • 1 pinch cumin
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 kilo corn tortillas
  • 1 liter vegetable oil
  • hot sauce
  • lime

  • Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat, cook the garlic and onion until golden, add the tomato, serrano chili, Atún Dolores® Yellowfin Tuna in Oil, bay leaves, cilantro, cumin, and salt to taste. Remove the filling from the heat, cool down, and set aside.
  • Heat the corn tortillas on a griddle and fill them with the sautéed mixture, closing with toothpicks. Set aside.
  • Heat the oil in a deep pot over medium heat. Fry the fish fritters until crispy. Drain the fat on a paper towel.
  • Serve with lemon, store-bought sauce, and enjoy.
