Fish Salpicón Recipe

This fish salpicón is a fresh, healthy, and delicious dish. Best of all, it is made with fish, many vegetables, and a delicious vinaigrette. Prepare this version at home and serve with crackers or tostadas.

  • olive oil
  • 4 tilapia fillets
  • salt, to season the fish
  • pepper, to season the fish
  • 1/4 cups lime juice
  • 1/4 teaspoons cumin powder
  • 1/2 teaspoons cilantro seeds, ground
  • salt
  • 2 green onions, with stems, filleted
  • 1/2 cups baby cucumber, in half-moons
  • 1 cup Herdez® Green Tatemada and Martajada Sauce, 440 g
  • 1/4 cups Creole coriander
  • avocado, in cubes, for decoration
  • tostadas, for accompaniment

  • Heat a skillet over medium heat, pour in the olive oil, add the fish, and season with salt and pepper. Cook for 10 minutes or until tender.
  • Remove from heat and shred the fish. Allow to cool to room temperature.
  • Mix the fish, lime juice, ground cumin, coriander seed, and salt in a bowl. Let marinate for 10 minutes.
  • Incorporate the green onion and cucumber. Mix and set aside.
  • Mix the salpicón with the Tatemada Sauce and Herdez® Martajada Verde and let it rest for 5 minutes to integrate the flavors.
  • Serve the fish salpicón with cilantro and avocado and accompany with tostadas.
