Fish Strips with Chipotle and Honey

Enjoy these crispy fish strips with a crunchy breaded, accompanied by a rich sweet and sour sauce of chipotle and honey. It is ideal as a snack to enjoy in any meeting during this time of Lent.

  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • 1/4 cups honey
  • 1/4 cups sugar
  • 1/4 cups tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoons chipotle chile, ground
  • 2 tablespoons hot sauce
  • salt and pepper
  • 4 tilapia fillets, in thick strips
  • flour
  • 2 eggs, smoothie
  • 1 envelope Bimbo® crunchy bread crumbs, (175 g)
  • vegetable oil, to fry

  • For the sweet and sour sauce, heat the pineapple juice in a pot over medium heat and add the honey, sugar, tomato sauce, ground chipotle, hot sauce, season with salt and pepper and cook for 10 minutes or until thick . Chill and reserve.
  • Season the fish with salt and pepper and cover with flour, egg and crushed Bimbo® crushed bread making sure it is covered completely.
  • Fry the fish strips in hot oil for 5 minutes or until browned. Drain on absorbent paper to remove excess grease.
  • Serve the fish strips with the sauce.
