Maki Sushi

With this maki sushi, you will learn how to make sushi rice from scratch, a very versatile dish that you can combine with whatever you crave. In this case, the delicious sushi rolls are filled with shrimp, cream cheese, carrot, cucumber, and avocado. Perfect for snacking and treating those you love most!

  • 1/2 cups rice, for sushi
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/8 cups rice vinegar
  • 8 pieces nori
  • 1 cup shrimp
  • 1 cup cream cheese, in strips
  • 1 cup carrot, in strips
  • 1 cup cucumber, in strips
  • 1 cup avocado, in strips
  • soy sauce, for accompaniment

  • For the rice, add it to a pot along with the water, sugar, and rice vinegar. Cover and cook over medium heat for 20 minutes. Cool.
  • On a bamboo mat with non-stick plastic wrap, place the nori seaweed and with your wet hands cover it with rice, fill it with shrimp, cream cheese, carrot, cucumber, and avocado. Roll it up and press until you form the sushi roll.
  • Moisten the knife with water and cut into 8 pieces.
  • Serve and accompany with soy sauce.
