Shrimp Ceviche with Cocktail Sauce

In this ceviche, the shrimp is cooked in lime juice, with a touch of ketchup and spiciness. It is served with avocados, cilantro, and crackers.

  • 1/2 cups red onion, chopped
  • 6 cups water
  • 3/4 cups lime juice
  • 1/2 kilos shrimp
  • 1/2 cups ketchup
  • 1/3 cups fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons buffalo sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoons salt
  • 1 avocado

  • Finely chop the onion and cilantro.
  • Bring 6 cups of water with 1/4 cup of lime juice to a boil.
  • Cook the shrimp for 3 minutes.
  • Dry the shrimp and rinse with cold water.
  • Peel the shrimp.
  • Mix the shrimp with 1/2 cup of lime juice in a bowl. Cover and chill for 1 hour.
  • Add to the shrimp the onion, ketchup, cilantro, avocado, hot sauce, olive oil, and salt.
  • Mix and serve in cocktail glasses.
