Pears poached in red wine are great to accompany meat or duck. They have a flavor of spices and wine that is delicious.

150 grams sugar
1 clove
1 star anise pod
50 grams butter

Peel the pears.
Put all the ingredients in a pot.
After 30 min the pears should be cooked. You will know why when you poke them with a knife and lift them they will slide off the knife.
Take them out of the pot and cut them in half or thin slices depending on how you want to decorate the plate.
