Sonoran Tostadas

Delicious tostadas in true Sonora style, this traditional Mexican dish is delightful, a product of the mix of vegetables and the rich sauce that accompanies them. It is very easy to prepare and is perfect as a vegetarian option.

  • 1 tablespoon Knorr Tomate® tomato bouillon
  • 2 pasilla chiles, deveined and soaked in hot water
  • 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cups white onion, cut into medium squares
  • 1 cup green beans, cleaned, cut into quarters and cooked
  • 2 carrots, peeled, diced small and cooked
  • 4 tablespoons queso fresco, grated
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 8 corn tostadas, baked
  • 1/2 cups water

  • Roast the chiles.
  • Finely chop the garlic.
  • Cut the onion into squares.
  • Sauté the onion and garlic with the oil.
  • Blend the chiles, onion, and water.
  • Return the mixture to the heat and cook for 5 minutes.
  • Boil and cut the carrot into small cubes.
  • Add the green beans, potato, and carrot to the skillet.
  • Season with Knorr® Tomato Seasoning.
  • Let cook for 5 minutes.
  • Serve the mixture on the tostadas.
  • Sprinkle grated fresh cheese.
