Yucatecan Meat Tostadas

  • 5 beefsteaks
  • 2 oranges
  • 1 lime, a splash of vinegar
  • 3 Roma tomatoes
  • 1/4 onions
  • 1 green bell pepper
  • Oléico® safflower oil, necessary amount
  • salt, to taste

  • 1 plantain
  • sour cream
  • panela cheese, grated
  • tostadas
  • 50 grams achiote paste
  • 1 cup refried beans

  • Blend the achiote with orange juice, lime, salt, pepper, and marinate the steaks.
  • Let the steaks marinate while you blend the tomatoes, onion, bell pepper, and salt.
  • Grill the steaks in a pan with a little oil, then grind them with a food processor.
  • In a pot, sauté the mixture of tomato, bell pepper, and onion, then add the ground meat. Leave it on low heat until it dries out, stirring constantly and without covering.
  • While the meat is finishing, fry the plantains.
  • Serve on tostadas with refried beans, cream, and cheese, and garnish with the fried plantains. You can add salsa to taste.
