Chicago Style Hot Dog

  • water, for the sausage
  • 6 sausages, Frankfurt, smoked
  • 6 hot dog buns, hot
  • 1 cup mustard
  • 1/4 cups pickles, sweet, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cups onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tomato, in half moons
  • 6 pickles, bittersweet, halved
  • salt, celery
  • 3 cups potato chips

  • Boil the water in a saucepan, once the water begins to bubble, place the frankfurters and cook for 6 minutes over medium heat. Remove from heat, drain and reserve.
  • Assemble your hot dog: cut the hot dog bread on one side without slicing completely, place the boiled sausage, add the mustard to taste, the sweet pickle, the onion, tomato, the sweet and sour pickle and celery salt. Accompany with fried French fries.
