Spaghetti with Shrimp in Cognac

  • vegetable oil, and salt for boiling the pasta
  • 1 package spaghetti
  • 200 grams bacon, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1/4 red onions, finely chopped
  • 1/2 kilos medium-sized shrimp, washed and butterflied
  • cognac, or brandy for flambéing
  • 1/2 sticks butter
  • parsley, finely chopped for garnish

  • Heat the water and when it boils, add the spaghetti with the oil and salt. Drain very well.
  • In a hot skillet, add the bacon and fry until lightly browned; add the garlic, onion, and shrimp for 5 minutes or until cooked.
  • Add the cognac and flambé the shrimp.
  • Add the pasta and butter, mix until combined and cook for 3 more minutes.
