Homemade Arrabiata Sauce

Pasta night will never be the same once you try this arrabbiata sauce! This spicy Italian sauce features a basic tomato sauce prepared with chile flakes for a fiery hint that makes this recipe simply irresistible.   • 1/4 cups olive oil
  • 1 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, finely chopped
  • 6 tomatoes, poached and cut into medium-sized cubes
  • 1/2 teaspoons chile flakes
  • salt

  • 1/4 cups olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon fresh basil leaf, minced
  • short pasta, cooked
  • Parmesan cheese, for garnish

  • In a bowl, mash potatoes with a potato masher until a purée is obtained. Set aside.
  • In a pot, heat olive oil and fry garlic. Add chile flakes and stir for 5 minutes.
  • Add tomato purée and cook for 1 hour until a thick paste is obtained. Add olive oil.
  • Season with salt and pepper. In a skillet, place pasta and pour in homemade arrabbiata sauce. Serve in a soup dish garnished with Parmesan cheese and basil.
