Turkey Gravy

A delicious sauce made with wine and spices that can be made with the drippings from your holiday turkey.

  • 3 cups chicken broth, or turkey broth
  • 1 cup red wine
  • 1/3 cups flour
  • 1 tablespoon oregano
  • 1 tablespoon thyme
  • 1 pinch pepper

  • Remove the drippings that accumulated in your roasting pan while roasting your turkey and place them in a medium saucepan.
  • Add the chicken broth and wine and stir while simmering the gravy for 15 minutes.
  • While cooking, use a spoon to skim off the fat that accumulates on the surface of the gravy.
  • Add the flour and herbs and continue stirring for 10 more minutes.
  • Serve to accompany your turkey. The sauce will thicken 5 minutes after cooking.
