  • 250 grams wheat flour
  • 63 grams lard
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 cup water, approximately

  • For the dough, in a bowl mix the wheat flour with the shortening, salt, baking powder, and gradually add the water until a smooth dough forms. Let the dough rest for about 20 minutes.
  • Cut the tortilla dough into equal portions and form balls with your hands.
  • With the help of a floured rolling pin, roll out the ball to form a thin tortilla.
  • Heat a griddle over medium heat and cook the tortilla for 1 minute on each side. Cook the tortilla until it puffs up, remove from the griddle and enjoy warm.
