Heat a little olive oil in a pot and sauté the onion over medium heat until it slightly changes color, then add the chayote, white cabbage, and chard and sauté for 4 more minutes, stirring constantly until the volume of the leaves decreases.
Add the precooked carrots and pour in the chicken broth, cilantro, thyme, enough salt and pepper. Cook over medium heat for 12 minutes.
Serve the chard soup accompanied by avocado.
