How to infuse oils

Infused oils are a very creative way to add a delicious touch to your dishes. I’ll share my secret for infusing different types of olive oil; some oils you can create are: olive oil infused with rosemary, olive oil infused with basil, olive oil infused with chili, or lemon-infused olive oil.

Step by Step

1
The first step in this secret is to have, at least one day before, the ingredient that will infuse your oil. Wash it very well and let it dry overnight.
2
You will need a bottle with a plastic cork or a glass jar to store your oil. You also need to wash and dry it very well before using it.
3
Chop or mash the herb, fruit, or spice to be used and place it inside the jar. Add enough olive oil to completely cover the jar.
4
Seal the bottle and leave it in a shaded spot in your kitchen for 1-2 weeks. You can taste the oil to see how much the flavors have infused.
5
Once your oil has the desired flavor, strain the ingredient and return it to the jar. Use the oil within the next 30 days and keep it refrigerated.
