When you suffer from your stomach or
gastritis takes over, it is common for health professionals to prescribe a
soft diet, but often you do not know what it is, what it consists of, and what types of foods it includes. So at kiwilimón, we set out to investigate what a soft diet is so that you are well-informed in case you need to follow it after surgery or any other condition.
What is a soft diet?
As the name suggests, a soft diet includes very soft and easy-to-digest foods. Additionally, they are easy to cook, as they are made in a pan without fat or boiled.
The
U.S. National Library of Medicine explains that in addition to soft foods, the soft diet also consists of ingredients rich in
fiber and zero
spices, so you will have to say goodbye to sauces, spicy sweets, and dishes with chili. On the other hand, the soft diet also implies avoiding
fried foods or
raw dishes, as well as alcoholic beverages and
coffee.
