Many dishes require frying, and sometimes we face issues like burnt food, overly greasy dishes, poorly fried items, and bad color among others.
To avoid these problems and ensure our fried dishes turn out perfectly, here are some simple and effective tips that you shouldn't miss.
- The oil must be at a very good temperature to achieve a brown color and texture in the food being fried, and it will help fry it quickly and evenly. This temperature should be between 177 and 190 degrees Celsius. To ensure that the oil is at this temperature, it is advisable to use a kitchen thermometer.
- Using canola oil for frying offers many advantages because it is low in saturated fats, has a high smoke point, and does not absorb the flavors of the food you are frying.
- For those foods that require very deep frying, the oil should be at the hottest point where bubbles appear, and the temperature should be maintained until the frying is complete. It's important to know that if too much food is added to a small amount of oil, the temperature will drop, and the food will end up greasy.
- Never fill the pot or container you are frying in with more than half oil. This is to avoid burns when placing the food in when the oil is bubbling.
- It is important to dry the food very well with paper towels before adding it to the pot or container being used; this will help prevent splattering.
