Testing, testing: our favorites of the month!

By Staff - 2025-02-05T11:11:46Z
Month after month, the Kiwilimón team takes a tour around the city to discover new restaurants, cafes, bars, and street food stands to enjoy delicious food. This time, we share incredible experiences, tell you where to eat good seafood in CDMX, and also take you to an Italian restaurant that will fascinate you.

Best of the month

Are you tired of visiting the same places? Forget about them for a while and instead visit one of these 5 recommendations. It's a sure bet, guaranteed by the Kiwilimón team

Oz Repostería

If you are looking for the most spectacular desserts in Mexico City to treat yourself or to pamper your friends, boyfriend, husband, or anyone, Oz Repostería is the perfect choice! This bakery venture sells everything from cakes, New York-style cookies, cheesecakes, cinnamon rolls, and even milkshakes, all at quite affordable prices with high-quality ingredients and preparation. They are located in a small shop in the Clavería neighborhood, Azcapotzalco, and offer delivery through Rappi, Didi Food, and WhatsApp.
I recommend trying the banana caramel cheesecake, the red velvet cake, or any dessert because EVERYTHING THEY MAKE IS DELICIOUS!
  • Where? Bocanegra 88, San Álvaro, CDMX, Mexico.
  • Price: $80 to $200 pesos

Cucina Mia

Walking through Coyoacán is getting lost in a sea of cafes and restaurants with identical furniture, terraces, decorations, and menus. However, in the area, there are also authentic and unpretentious gastronomic proposals.

I visited Cucina Mia and found delicious thin-crust pizzas bursting with flavor, while their salads stand out for their freshness and flavor combinations. And let's not forget their homemade bread, which is thin, crispy, and perfect for accompanying your main dishes or appetizers.

I recommend ordering the house salad, which includes spinach, pear, strawberry, feta cheese, and sesame. If you want to snack while choosing your pizza, try their artichoke hearts with shrimp, garlic butter, and chili... you won't regret it! Now, all the pizzas are guaranteed, but my favorites were the classic Margarita and the 4 seasons. They are perfectly seasoned, have plenty of cheese, and are thin-crust, so you can eat several slices.

Something we can't overlook is the service. The staff is attentive, quickly finds you a table, and your drinks and appetizers are at your table in a matter of minutes.

Now you know, if you want to get away from chain food and generic restaurants in Coyoacán, visit Cucina Mia and indulge in their pastas and pizzas fresh. They have a stone oven, so I recommend sitting at the outdoor tables.
  • Where? Felipe Carrillo Puerto 9, Coyoacán, CDMX.
  • Price: $200 to $300 pesos per person

Mariscos Altamar

Are you a seafood fan? Then allow me to recommend a restaurant I have been going to with my family for over 20 years. The presentation has improved over the years, and the flavor has remained consistent at Mariscos Altamar. The restaurant is located inside the San Pedro de los Pinos Market.
Although I have visited countless places, this has always been my favorite, and the service is always good. Personally, I recommend the caldo cantinero to start, accompanied by some crispy pescadillas. The mojarra al mojo de ajo is a dish that never fails, and let's talk about their classic fillets, which are truly finger-licking good.
  • Where? Calle 7 #70 Col. San Pedro de los Pinos. Del. Benito Juárez, CDMX.
  • Price: $350 pesos per person

La cucharita

If you are looking for a place to celebrate this upcoming Valentine's Day, you will love this idea. It is the restaurant inside the museum “Casa de las mil muñecas,” located in the Roma Norte neighborhood, just minutes from the Insurgentes Roundabout. Here you will find a very pink spot that will give the romantic touch your pics need.

On the menu, you can find everything from “Grandma's Eggs,” served with beans and ideal for a simple breakfast to a pasta for a more substantial meal, but be careful! The portion of pasta may be enough to share.
The ideal for this date is to take enough time to explore the museum, which takes about an hour. After that, you can end your tour at the restaurant, where you will be welcomed with pink heart-shaped tablecloths and a very quiet atmosphere, accompanied by extremely friendly service.
  • Where? Av. Chapultepec 420, Roma Nte., Cuauhtémoc, Mexico City.
  • Price: $200 to $300 pesos per person
