5 dishes that every movie lover craves

The cinema can plant ideas in our minds even when we are not asleep. Watching Ratatouille, even though it's an animated film, made us all want to know what that dish contained, how it was made, and above all, what it tasted like to have that effect on Anton Ego.
Watching movies engages all the senses, and taste is certainly stimulated when we see a character eating or drinking a 5-dollar milkshake, for example. Here we only mention 5 dishes that recently stayed in our minds, with the curiosity to want to taste them or make them with a recipe we have here, like the one for ratatouille.
Chocolate cake, in 'Matilda'
“Bruce, Bruce, Bruce!” comes to mind every time I see chocolate cake. The chocolate cake from Matilda, which Bruce eats entirely, encouraged by all his schoolmates, is perhaps the most appetizing cake I have ever seen in my life. Of course, Bruce finished it; that cake surely tasted as good as it looks in the movie: delicious and victorious.
Chapaguri, in 'Parasite'
Bong Joon-ho's film opened up a new perspective for all of us, not only regarding how classism is experienced in South Korea but also a culinary one with that scene of chapaguri, or JjapaGuri, the traditional Korean dish prepared for the birthday boy, but that ends up being eagerly eaten by his mother. Chapaguri consists of noodles called chapaghetti, ramen noodles, cubed pork loin, garlic, and olive oil.
The ramen, in '#Alive'
This is a zombie story, and while we might think that a movie about the living dead could never make us crave food, in #Alive it does. It’s about packaged ramen, but the protagonist eats it with such enthusiasm (and, well, how could he not, it’s the end of the world) that you will want to grab one when you see it.
The pizza, in 'Eat, Pray, Love'
That famous scene of Julia Roberts eating pizza summarizes what we all think it would be like to try pizza in her home country: falling in love as if it were the first time. In general, Eat, Pray, Love whets our appetite time and again every time we watch it, but the pizza deserves a special mention.
The Cresson soup, in 'The Witches'
This one may not sound appetizing, but with the remake starring Anne Hathaway about to be released, I watched the 1990 film and loved the kitchen scene in the hotel. The witches are everywhere, and one of them is preparing soup for the whole group: Cresson soup is a watercress cream, which is also a famous recipe by chef Julia Child, and in the movie, it is the key to defeating Anjelica Houston.
For now, we leave you with these planted ideas, whether to watch the movie or to look for the dish at a restaurant or prepare it at home. Which movie makes you feel ‘inception’ to eat?
