The search for happiness has been a recurring theme for quite a few years now.
Finding the ideal partner, achieving professional success, having children, all depends on each person's own definition of happiness.
And here our intention is not to get tangled up in the complexities and reach the ultimate definition of happiness. Each person, in their very personal way, according to the moment they are living and their needs, will know what happiness means to them.

Among the long list of sources of happiness we can find, the acquisition of desired objects tends to be the most common. Buying that incredible pair of shoes, getting the ideal dress, finding the perfect makeup, all these are small ways to achieve happiness. Isn't that so?
Well, no. But that doesn't mean you can't buy happiness. According to recent research from the University of San Francisco, people who spend their money on acquiring experiences rather than material objects are much happier.
Shopping triggers the release of endorphins that generates a state of happiness and well-being, but only temporarily. In contrast, the emotions and memories of an experience can last for years.
Before you suffer a shopping spree and blow your paycheck on a new smartphone or those beautiful shoes, consider these tips for your money to lead you to happiness:
- Don't be swayed by extravagance. At first glance, it may seem that the most ostentatious objects can make you happier, but the truth is that it is the little things that are enjoyed the most. Instead of going into debt for the next six months for a coat, consider investing that money in a dinner with your friends or family.
- Everything is more enjoyable when shared. Of course, there's nothing wrong with treating yourself every now and then, but surprising your friend or partner with a gift will not only make their day but will also give you a sense of gratification and happiness.
- Forget about greed. Don't be determined to acquire things just for the sake of accumulating them. If you have the opportunity to rent or share expenses, you can make better use of your money and enjoy more experiences.
- Invest in yourself. Whether it's a massage, a spa treatment, meditation or cooking classes can make you feel happier for longer than an expensive pair of glasses. Think of all the things you could do with a month's clothing budget.

The definition of happiness is something very intimate. Don't let anyone tell you how to live your life to achieve happiness. Forget the clothing and decor catalogs. If what you really want is to travel to Italy, it doesn't matter if your closet or your house looks great or not.
