If you are currently on a weight loss regimen, whether for aesthetic or health reasons, you will often be recommended to consume shakes.
Dietary shakes are also known as meal replacements by nutritionists and weight loss experts because, in theory, drinking one of these shakes is intended to replace an entire meal.
But does meal replacement work? According to a scientific study conducted by Steven Heymsfield, MD from Columbia University, it does. Heymsfield and his colleagues collected information from six independent studies on different types of meal replacements and found that the overall weight loss for the 249 people who consumed meal replacements was greater than that of the 238 people compared to those who followed low-calorie diets.
It is important to note that weight loss should be regulated and supervised by a specialist doctor, as they should advise you, based on a preliminary analysis or study, which type of diet you should follow.
Here is a list of 5 dietary shakes that are recommended for consumption and that you can easily prepare at home. Take note.
