2 Mexican cafes among the 100 best in the world

Mexico has ingredients of excellent quality, and coffee is one of them. That’s why it doesn’t surprise us that 2 Mexican cafes are among the 100 best in the world. 

One is located in Mexico City and Colima, while the other is in Guadalajara; these Mexican cafes demonstrate that the quality and flavor of Mexican coffee transcend borders. Discover which ones they are!

The Mexican cafes that are succeeding worldwide 

The organization of The 100 Best Coffee Shops in the World (The World’s 100 Best Coffee Shops) published its ranking, and unsurprisingly, 2 Mexican cafes ranked among the best in the world.

Here we tell you where they are, what their menu looks like, and what you should order on your next visit. Enjoy the best of Mexican coffee!

El Terrible Juan Café 

This Mexican cafe located in Guadalajara secured the 51st spot in the top 100. The good news is that it has several locations throughout Jalisco:

  • Av. Rubén Darío 1531A almost corner with Av. Providencia 
  • Av. Tepeyac 1115b corner with Árbol, Zapopan 
  • Rafael Sanzio 525A corner with Santo Tomás de Aquino 
As for its menu, there’s plenty to choose from. They have a wide variety of coffees, but also sweet bread, savory dishes, pizzas, and even a kids' menu. 
Among its many coffee options, the standout ones are:
  • Cuppuccino - $48 pesos 
  • Marzipan Latte - $68 pesos 
  • White Mocha - $68 pesos 
  • French Press - $65 to $75 pesos 
  • Coffee with rompope - $75 pesos 
  • Cold brew with passion fruit - $85 pesos 
  • Affogato – $65 pesos 
  • Iced Macchiato - $48 pesos 
Among its wide variety of coffee drinks, the most interesting ones are the coffee with rompope and the cold brew with passion fruit. Pair it with their apple pie with blueberries, English breakfast, or the Canadian loin and beef sausage sandwich.

Camino a Comala

This Mexican cafe has delighted us with its incredible creations for years, and it’s no surprise it secured the 96th spot in the ranking of the 100 best cafes in the world.  

The good news is that Camino a Comala has 4 branches in Mexico City and another one in Colima:

To accompany their excellent coffee, order the fruit roll, the ham baguette, or their green chilaquiles with egg.
