Dark chocolate and hypertension

As you probably already know, hypertension is a chronic disease characterized by causing an increase in the speed at which the heart pumps blood. Health experts explain that high blood pressure is related to obesity and other health problems.

High blood pressure increasingly affects more people in Mexico and around the world, which is why scientists worldwide are conducting studies and research to find better ways to treat this disease. Now it all seems to indicate that dark chocolate would be an excellent option!

In a recently published article, the portal Medical News Today states that the results of a study suggest that eating dark chocolate could reduce the chances of developing hypertension and could also reduce the risk of clots.

Although this does not mean that dark chocolate is the cure for high blood pressure, it is good news for those who have this condition, as they can now enjoy a small piece of this delicacy without worry.

On the other hand, UNAM also mentions that the relationship between chocolate with high cocoa percentages dates back to 1944, when Dr. Benjamin H. Kean noticed that the Kuna Indians hardly suffered from high blood pressure, which was linked to their consumption of large amounts of cocoa.
