The
SEP has just made an announcement that will change the way
Mexican children eat: junk food,
juices, and
sodas will no longer be sold inside schools.
Often, children who do not bring a
lunch to school opt to buy chips, chocolates, pastries, juices, sodas, gummies, and more. Therefore, it is important to send them a good lunch that includes fruits, vegetables, and other healthy foods.

Authorities announced that starting from
March 29, the promotion and sale of
junk food,
sodas, and sugary drinks will be prohibited within schools.
In addition to the fact that children will no longer have this type of food available within educational institutions, a series of new measures have also been announced to protect the health of children.
Among the new measures is the deployment of “738 brigades made up of 11 specialists and public servants as part of the National Strategy:
Live Healthy, Live Happy.” The new strategy will begin on March 12.
It is worth mentioning that, in addition to the prohibition of
junk food in schools, authorities will also launch a health campaign focused on preventing cases of anemia and obesity. Additionally, the visual health of students will be evaluated, and they will also be taught how to brush their teeth correctly.
