10 things you do wrong every morning

The alarm goes off, you turn off the alarm, and you wait another 10 minutes to leave the sheets.
When you finally find the strength to get up, you rush to the shower while thinking about what you will wear today.
If your morning routine looks like this, we’re sorry to say that you’re not starting your day in the best way.
Would you like to make the most of each day? Avoid doing these 10 things every morning:
- Hitting the snooze button. It’s normal to struggle with getting up in the morning sometimes, but if hitting the snooze button every morning is part of your routine, all you're doing is destabilizing your sleep cycle. Instead of gaining a few more minutes of rest, you will only end up feeling tired all day.

- Not drinking water. Jumping into the shower right after getting up can help you fully wake up, but to get your whole body activated and functioning properly, it’s best to drink a glass of warm water. If you also add a few drops of lemon, it can serve as a detox.
- Rushing out. You might prefer to spend a few more minutes in bed, but getting up only to be stuck in traffic or public transport 10 minutes later is not the best way to start the day. Wake up a few minutes earlier to prepare yourself more calmly and give your body a chance to start without rushing.

- Skipping breakfast. Although it may seem cliché, the first meal of the day is the most important. If you skip breakfast, you won’t have enough energy to carry out your activities, and your metabolism will work more slowly. Remember to take care of your health and figure with a healthy breakfast every day.
- Searching for your clothes. Ideally, you should prepare your outfit the night before. This way, you save time choosing clothes and have the chance to think of a plan B in case of any contingencies. (How many times has it happened to you that the blouse you wanted to wear is still at the dry cleaner or is all wrinkled?).

- Not stretching. You probably do this before and after your workout routine, but it’s also important to consider it when you wake up. With some very basic stretches, you can help your body regain energy and prepare for what lies ahead in the day.
- Avoiding sunlight. If you’re not a “morning person,” you probably hate feeling the sun’s rays on your face right after waking up, but this little dose of natural light can help you feel more vibrant and even in a better mood.

- Not meditating. Practicing meditation, especially in the morning, helps clear your mind and gives you a clearer perspective throughout the day. Instead of checking your social media, take 5 minutes to breathe deeply and be thankful for a new day.
- Reading news or work emails. You haven’t even left your house and you already feel overwhelmed by the number of tasks you have, or worse, you’re worried about the crisis that all the media are forecasting. Honestly, it’s not necessary to start your day like this. Give your mind the chance to start with more positive or pleasant information.

- Not listening to music. Never underestimate the power of your favorite music. Create a playlist with your favorite songs and you will see how serotonin works wonders.
