4 homemade sugar scrubs

The care of the skin, hair, and nails can become a relaxing activity that allows us to pamper ourselves and makes us feel good about ourselves; however, it can also be quite costly, as creams, treatments, exfoliants, and other products can be very expensive.  

Fortunately, many ingredients that are already in our pantries and kitchens are the best allies for hair and skin. This time, we refer to sugar, as its fine crystals make it ideal for preparing homemade exfoliants for feet, hands, lips, and the entire body. Don’t think twice and prepare one of these sugar exfoliants at home; they are amazing!

4 homemade exfoliants with sugar 
Removing dead cells, combating blackheads, and achieving radiant skin is possible with these incredible natural exfoliants, as mother nature provides us with everything we need. Just remember that if your skin is sensitive, it’s best to consult a dermatologist.  

Foot Exfoliant 
Forget about dryness on your feet with this incredible homemade exfoliant, which will leave your feet very hydrated and free of roughness. 
  • 4 tablespoons of sugar 
  • 1 cup of milk 
  • 5 cups of warm water 
  • 1/2 cup of baby oil 
  1. Pour the milk and warm water into a large container and soak your feet for 10 minutes. 
  2. Mix the baby oil with the sugar in a bowl until a thick paste forms. 
  3. Apply the exfoliant to your feet and massage in circular motions for 10 minutes.  
  4. Rinse and dry your feet with a clean towel. 
  5. Apply a bit of petroleum jelly to your feet and put on some socks; your feet will be softer than ever! 
Hand Exfoliant 
Thanks to its various benefits, green tea is ideal for making natural exfoliants; try this one for your hands! 
  • 1 cup of brown sugar 
  • 2 green tea bags 
  • 1/4 cup of hot water 
  • 1/4 cup of melted coconut oil 
  1. Place the tea bags in the hot water and let it steep for 5 minutes. Allow it to cool. Put the brown sugar in a bowl and mix with the coconut oil.  
  2. Pour the cold tea into the previous mixture until you obtain a paste. 
  3. Apply the exfoliant to your hands and massage gently. 
  4. Let it sit for 2 minutes and rinse. 
  5. Apply a bit of cream and you’re done.

Lip Exfoliant 
With the arrival of the cold season, it’s normal for lips to need a good exfoliant that also hydrates them; this is your best option! 
  • 1 teaspoon of honey 
  • 1 teaspoon of brown sugar 
  1. Stir the honey and sugar until you get a homogeneous mixture. 
  2. Apply it to your lips and move in a circular motion to remove dead skin. 
  3. Rinse and apply lip balm for hydration. 
Body Exfoliant 
Exfoliating your entire body will be very easy with this option, which only requires 3 ingredients.  
  • ¼ cup of ground coffee 
  • ½ ripe banana 
  • ¼ cup of olive oil  
  1. Place the banana in a clean, dry container and mash it with a fork. 
  2. Add the ground coffee and olive oil. 
  3. Mix everything perfectly. 
  4. Apply the exfoliant to your feet and legs. 
  5. Massage for about 10 to 15 minutes. 
  6. Let it sit for 10 minutes and rinse with plenty of water.
