Maintaining balanced skin has a lot to do with what we eat, and although cucumber is a great ingredient since it provides us with a lot of water, this time we will teach you how to use it as a replacement for your jade roller.

Jade rollers became very popular a few years ago, as their use promises to relax muscle tension and reduce puffy skin, but on TikTok, what trended was a super simple trick that involves a massage similar to that performed with the jade roller, but with a simpler and homemade tool: a frozen cucumber.

How to Use a Frozen Cucumber to Decrease Facial Puffiness?
With a massage around the face for a couple of minutes (just like the one you give yourself with a jade facial roller), a frozen cucumber can help you eliminate imperfections, brighten the skin under your eyes, and reduce puffy eyelids, while the cold sensation reduces swelling and redness.

Among the reasons why TikTok users love this trick, some say that the frozen cucumber also hydrates their skin and helps with acne, in addition to leaving the skin with a natural glow.

A TikToker named Emily Dombrowski advises cutting off the piece that was in contact with your skin to refreeze it and use it in the most hygienic way possible.

Benefits of Using Frozen Cucumber on the Face
The cucumber is naturally hydrating because it is composed of 96% water, and research indicates that it is rich in other stimulating ingredients for skin care. Cucumber has long been used in the skincare world, specifically under the eyes, due to its refreshing properties and high levels of ascorbic acid, also known as vitamin C.

Thus, this natural vitamin C brightens the skin over time, increases collagen levels, and helps protect the skin against environmental aggressors, such as pollution. Therefore, thanks to these characteristics, it is likely that cucumber can provide benefits to the skin and help reduce inflammation and lighten dark spots.

However, some foods have high levels of acids that can cause irritation if used improperly, so don't forget to do a patch test on a small area before applying it all over your face.
