How to Remove Hangnails

By Kiwilimón - 2018-10-16T09:15:26.671877Z
Since yesterday, I have a hangnail on the thumb of my right hand that is driving me crazy. Since I'm not left-handed, I use it for everything and I also have the habit of tapping the spacebar of my keyboard with the corner of my thumb, which means I've been in agony all day.

That's why I decided to search for different remedies for my problem. I'm trying them all, but I'm sharing them in case you share my pain (and if anyone knows another one, it's very welcome).   First of all, hangnails are small fragments of skin that lift up around the nail (if you were expecting a note on how to get rid of your mom's husband, this is not it). They can come from dryness and are not always painful; however, they can lead to infections that cause the skin to swell, and that's when you suffer. Here are the remedies that our friends from  ActitudFEM share with us:

1. Olive Oil

Soak a q-tip in oil and moisten the area where you have the hangnail to hydrate it and try to soften the little piece of skin.

2. Salt Water

Heat half a cup of water in the microwave and add a tablespoon of salt. Soak your finger for at least 5 minutes (make sure the water isn't too hot before touching it) and the salt will help reduce the inflammation of the skin.

3. Natural Yogurt

Put your finger in a container with fresh natural yogurt.

4. Antibacterial Ointment

In addition to moisturizing, it prevents your skin from getting infected.

5. Prevent the Next One

To avoid this happening again, it’s important to keep your fingers well-moisturized, especially if you have a lot of contact with water or during cold seasons. Do you have any other remedies? Go to the original article.
