The
caramel popcorn has an enveloping aroma that transports us to the cinema or our childhood, while its crunchy texture and sweet flavor captivate our palate, making it an ideal snack to share with family, especially if you are looking for a recipe that is not too complicated or expensive.
Although it may seem a bit difficult to make
caramel popcorn at home, it really isn't, as it only requires six ingredients, many of which you probably already have in your pantry. Also, unlike most
caramel popcorn recipes, ours doesn't use corn syrup, an ingredient that
experts have linked to “insulin resistance, obesity, type 2 diabetes, and hypertension.”

Get to work and prepare this crunchy caramel popcorn for a craving, to watch a movie, or to gift, it’s very easy!
Ingredients:
- 5 cups of popcorn
- 1 cup of water
- 3 cups of brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon of baking soda
- 1 tablespoon of salt
- 3 tablespoons of unsalted butter
Instructions:
1. Make the
popcorn as you like best, whether on the stove, in the microwave, or in a special machine. Set aside.
2. Place wax paper on two baking sheets.
3. Add the sugar, salt, butter, and 1 cup of water to a large pot.
4. Cook the
caramel over low heat for 15 minutes, stirring constantly to prevent sticking.
5. Once the caramel thickens, remove from heat, add the
baking soda, and mix very well.
6. Add the popcorn to the caramel and mix them with a wooden spoon.
7. Place the caramel-coated popcorn on the two baking sheets, spreading them out well.
8. Bake the popcorn for about 8 to 10 minutes.
9. Let the
caramel popcorn cool and enjoy.
