To prepare exquisite rice that is just right, keep these tips in mind:
  • -To make fluffy rice, always make sure that the garlic or onion does not burn when frying them, as this will give it a bad taste.
  • -Once the garlic or onion is cooked, add the rice and stir with a wooden spoon, so it absorbs the oil well.
  • -Add the liquid, whether it be water, broth, or wine, and season with salt to taste, mixing well.
  • -Once the water comes to a boil, cover and lower the stove temperature, letting it simmer until the rice is fluffy.
  • -When the rice is ready, stir it gently with a fork to keep it loose.
  • -If you add a few drops of lemon juice to the water, it will make the rice whiter.
  • -Leftover cooked rice can be stored in the refrigerator in a covered container for up to two days; otherwise, it may spoil.
  • -Most of the rice sold now does not need to be washed, but if necessary, rinse the rice by placing it in a large bowl under cold running water and rinsing several times until the water runs clear, drain well, and cook as usual.
  • -To reheat rice, the most practical way would be to place each plate of rice in the microwave for 30 seconds, and if you don’t have a microwave, put the rice in a saucepan, sprinkle with a little water, cover, and heat while stirring occasionally.
  • -To serve the rice, use your creativity by shaping it with molds and garnishing with herbs or vegetables, and don’t limit yourself to just placing it on the plate.
