Are you tired of always going to the same places? Do you want to try different things? Don’t say more! At kiwilimón we share this list of 5 must-visit places to eat this January. There are options for all tastes and budgets!
Xuva
Mexico City is full of countless restaurants that claim to have the best
Oaxacan food; however, few truly manage to convey the magic and flavor of this culinary tradition as well as Xuva.
Located in Santa María la Ribera, Xuva stands out for several reasons. As soon as you enter this old mansion, the place transports you to a culinary oasis where the endemic ingredients of Oaxaca shine: chapulines, mole, tasajo, chorizo, and more.
In this Oaxacan restaurant, you have different options since you can order one of their famous moles, an Oaxacan platter, or some other snack. But if you want to delve into the world of authentic Mexican food, order one of their tasting menus, which includes dishes like chicatana mole and yellow mole empanadas.
When it comes to drinks, Xuva also has incredible proposals and various mezcal options. If you still have room for dessert, indulge in their mamey tart or the corn tamale with a touch of rompope.
If you love true Oaxacan cuisine, then visit Xuva and fall in love with the magic of its cooking and its incredible author proposal, led by chef Juan Aquino.

Sonia
Entering this restaurant feels like home from the first minute, not only because of the cozy and vintage decor, but also because each of its dishes evokes those family meals and flavors.
I recommend ordering the turkey carnitas in black mole with plantain compote and sesame, as it is an explosion of textures and flavors that will captivate you. If you prefer a lighter option, choose this beet carpaccio with pistachio butter, arugula, and Parmesan cheese.
This restaurant has crowned itself as a place that stands out not only for its food but also enchants with its atmosphere and cozy spaces. It is the perfect setting for a family meal, a gathering with friends, or even a romantic dinner.

Trying, trying: our favorites from October!Olivia Pizza e Forno
If you are a fan of
Italian food, you cannot miss this restaurant located in the Narvarte neighborhood.
In terms of decor, it has a calm and well-lit atmosphere. Meanwhile, its menu features a wide variety of pizzas and pastas, highlighting the great quality and freshness of the ingredients.
Keep in mind that at Olivia Pizza e Forno, the dishes are generous, so order different options and share. If you still make it to dessert, be sure to try the tartufo, tiramisu, and panna cotta.

De huevos
Do you like to have a good and varied breakfast? Try the wonderful options at this place, which range from a
egg sandwich with bacon on brioche bread to a toast, which includes artisanal bread, omelet, Canadian bacon, Gouda cheese, and cheddar cheese.
Personally, my favorite is the Huevopixtla, a brioche filled with Yecapixtla chorizo, sunny-side-up or creamy egg, onion, avocado dip, Oaxaca cheese, refried beans, and a touch of dill.

La Escondida
Leave the chaos of the city behind for a few hours and visit La Escondida, a hacienda located very close to Mexico City. What’s best of all? You won't spend much on tolls and you will be amazed by the scenery and the food.
At La Escondida, you can enjoy a very varied
buffet or order any
snack from the menu, there are options for everyone! What I liked most is that you are surrounded by trees and natural beauty, so you will forget about the hustle and bustle of the city for a while.
In addition to being ideal for a family outing, you can enjoy the natural beauty of the place and even see the ducks that live there. Just remember to bring a sweater or jacket, as the temperature can drop quite a bit.
