For the syrup, in a small pot over medium heat, cook the ginger with the sugar and water until you obtain a thick syrup. Remove from heat and mix in the grenadine. Cool and set aside. In a short glass, mix 2 oz of vodka with 1 oz of ginger syrup and 1/2 oz of lemon juice.
