A great recipe for preparing French Toast, also known as French Bread. This entrée is accompanied by maple syrup, butter and fruit can be placed on top, like strawberries.

Mix the eggs, cream, milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt with a balloon whisk. Reserve.
Arrange slices of bread in a Pyrex bowl(in a single layer) and add all the egg mixture on top. Let stand for 10 minutes.
Turn over the slices of bread and let rest for another 10 minutes, absorbing all the liquid.
Preheat the oven to 120º centigrade (about 310ºF)
Place a baking sheet on a rack (if you have one). If not, grease the tray.
Heat in a skillet over medium heat 2 tablespoons butter and 2 tablespoons oil.
Fry half of the bread slices until golden brown, 2-3 minutes per side.
Move the fried slices to the tray.
Clean the pan, and repeat step 7 with the rest of the bread, oil and butter.
Put the rest of the French bread on the tray and put in the oven for a few minutes until it is ready to serve.
Serve with hot maple syrup.
