Preparation
Boil the 1/2 cup of water with the sugar over medium heat until a slightly thick mixture is obtained (approximately 10 minutes).
It is removed from the heat and mixing quickly adds honey.
Beat the egg whites until stiff and add the ground almonds and the sugar syrup little by little until they are well mixed.
Transfer the whole mixture to a pot and cook the turron on low heat for approximately 15 minutes or until you can see the bottom of the pot when mixing.
A mold is lined with waxed paper and the turron is poured into it. Let it cool and your sweets are ready.
The turron can work as a dessert or as a companion for hot drinks such as eggnog, citron or punch.
