Ingredients

  • 1/2 Cup of raw sugar for the syrup (90g) (6.7oz)
  • 3 spoonfuls of syrup for the syrup, (30 ml)
  • 3 spoonfuls of Butter for the syrup (30g) (1 oz)
  • 8 slices of Pineapple in syrup
  • 8 pieces of cherries in syrup
  • 1/3 of Cup of sugar
  • 3 pieces of egg
  • 1 1/2 cups of dark chocolates melted
  • 1 tablespoon of vanilla essence
  • 1/3 of Cup of Butter melted (70g) (2.5oz)
  • 2 cups of flour
  • 1 Cup of milk
  • 1 tablespoon of Salt
  • 1 tablespoon of baking powder

    Preparation

    Preheat the oven to 180 °C (356°F)
    In a small pot over medium heat, cook the sugar with the syrup, and when it has melted, add the butter.
    Pour the previous mixture in an heat proof dish suitable for the oven. Arrange pineapples and cherries in the center. Leave to dry.
    For the cake, in a bowl beat the eggs with the sugar, add the chocolate, butter, flour alternating with milk, salt and baking powder.
    Pour the preparation over the carmeled portion carefully so as not to disturb the pineapples. Bake for 25 minutes or until cooked. Remove and cool.
    Unmold the cake, slice and serve.

    PRESENTATION

    Accompany with a glass of cold milk.

    TIPS

    It is important that when unmolding the cake, it is slightly warm so that the caramel portion does not stick to the oven proof dish.
