Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and grease and flour a baking pan. Beat the margarine with the sugar and vanilla essence until creamy. Add the eggs one by one, then the flour, baking powder, cocoa, and baking soda. Mix into the previous mixture, alternating with the milk.
