This is the best cupcake idea for a birthday party. They are very easy to prepare and will leave everyone delighted with the surprise that they are cupcakes and not ice cream.

Prepare the cake mix according to the package instructions. In a cupcake tray, place the 12 ice cream cones (make sure they have a flat base so they won't tip over). Put the cake batter into a piping bag (or a resealable bag with a corner cut off) and fill the cones 2/3 full (if not, they may overflow). Bake according to the package instructions, until they are slightly golden and a toothpick inserted comes out dry. Prepare the colored frostings or the color you wish to use. Make sure to add one drop at a time. Mix well and place in a piping bag. Cover the cupcakes with circular motions (you can use a large star tip to make them look like machine-made ice cream) and sprinkle with colorful sprinkles.
