Try this apple walnut dessert and follow the step-by-step of this apple cheese roll recipe. Its delicious and soft sponge cake has cinnamon flavor and is easy to prepare, while its spectacular filling is made with apple with walnut and cream cheese. Gala Washington® Apples are crunchy, with sweet aromas, have orange and pink stripes on a beautiful yellow background, which makes them ideal for desserts.

Ingredients

  • 3 Washington® Apple Gala, for the filling
  • 3 tablespoons butter, for the filling
  • 1 cup walnut, finely chopped for filling
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder, for the filling
  • enough nutmeg, for the filling
  • 2 tablespoons raw sugar, for the filling
  • 2 cups cream cheese, for the filling
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla essence, for the filling
  • 1/2 cups powdered sugar, for the filling
  • 6 egg whites, for the cake
  • 1/4 cups sugar, for the cake
  • 6 egg yolks, for the cake
  • 1/4 cups sugar, for the cake
  • 1 cup flour, for the cake
  • 1/4 cups butter, melted for the cake
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder, for the cake
  • enough whipped cream, to decorate
  • Washington® Apple Gala, to decorate

Preparation

For the filling, peel the Gala Washington® Apple and cut into cubes. Reservation.
In a skillet over medium heat heat the butter, add the nuts, apples, cinnamon, nutmeg and muscovado sugar. Cook for 5 minutes, then let cool and set aside.
For the sponge cake, beat the egg whites with the sugar until they are almost nougat. Reservation.
Beat the yolks with the sugar until they change color and increase in volume. Reservation.
In a bowl add the whites to the yolks in an enveloping way and with the help of a strainer, gradually add the flour, alternating with the butter and cinnamon. Mix until you have a homogeneous preparation.
Pour on a tray with baking paper and bake for 10 minutes, at 180 ° C.
Place the cake on a cloth with icing sugar and roll the cake just out of the oven. Let cool and reserve.
Mix the cream cheese with the vanilla essence and the icing sugar, until they are completely integrated and have a pungent consistency.
Unroll the cake, stuffed with cream cheese, then with the cinnamon apples and roll. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Garnish with whipped cream and apples.

PRESENTATION

On an extended plate, accompanied by espresso coffee.

TIPS

So that your Gala Washington® Apples do not rust, add a few drops of lemon, so they will last longer.
