He presented a family recipe, they are the typical fritters of my town, in the state of Veracruz, Mexico. It is a delicious dessert, very economical to prepare and with a very rich flavor.

Ingredients

40 servings
  • 1 kilo of flour
  • 1 1/2 spoonfuls of yeast
  • 1 piece of egg
  • 2 pieces of sweet potato (can be replaced by potato)
  • 750 milliliters of milk
  • 2 spoonfuls of sugar
  • 2 spoonfuls of anise
  • 1 tablespoon of Butter
  • 1 tablespoon of Salt
  • 2 liters of oil

    Preparation

    Cook the sweet potato, with half a cup of water.
    Once cooked, add 2 cups of milk and anise, let cool.
    Dissolve the yeast in the leftover milk (make this warm) and blend with the sweet potatoes and other milk.
    Add little by little to the flour and stir, add the sugar, salt and margarine, keep kneading until you make little bombs, let it rest until it grows and form the fritters and fry in oil.

    PRESENTATION

    Serve several fritters on a tray.

    TIPS

    They are accompanied with trapiche honey, or sugar honey or homemade brown sugar.
