Flipped Pineapple Pie with Cherries

This pineapple cake will remind you of grandma's desserts. Delicious vanilla sponge cake with caramelized pineapple with butter and sugar. Ideal for a coffee afternoon with friends.

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cups raw sugar
  • 1 can Pineapple in syrup, (800 g) drained
  • 5 cherries
  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 11/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 bar butter, (90 g) at room temperature
  • 3/4 cups sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon liquid vanilla
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 1/8 cups vegetal oil


Preheat the oven 180 ° C.
In a pan over low heat melt the butter with the mashed sugar. Add this preparation to a cake mold 24 cm in diameter.
Add the pineapple slices, arranging them so they do not pile up and place the cherries. Reservation.
Mix all the powders for the cake in a bowl and reserve.
Acremer the butter with the sugar in the blender and add the eggs and vanilla little by little.
Add the rest of the ingredients alternating powders and liquids and beat until you get a homogeneous mixture.
Pour into the mold carefully so as not to move the pineapples. Bake for 25 minutes or until cooked. Chills and releases.


Decorate with cherries.


Take care that the candy does not burn because it will continue cooking in the oven.
