In a medium saucepan over medium heat, mix all the ingredients for the lemon custard (egg yolks, 3/4 cup of sugar, 6 tablespoons of lemon juice, and 1 tablespoon of lemon zest) and cook for 8 minutes while stirring continuously. Remove from heat. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Prepare a round baking dish with aluminum foil around it to contain the cake. The baking dish should be approximately 15 centimeters in diameter.
