Mil Hojas Cake with Ice Cream

If you are a lover of this classic dessert, we give you an incredible and simple frozen version based on Divided into Tia Rosa® Golden Strips filled with homemade vanilla ice cream. This Mil Hojas cake is the perfect dessert for this summer.

Ingredients

8 servings
  • 5 pieces of egg yolk
  • 3/4 of Cup of sugar
  • 2 cups of milk
  • 2 spoonfuls of vanilla
  • 2 cups of whipping cream
  • 2 packages of Divided into Tia Rosa® Golden Strips (110g each)
  • to taste of red fruit to decorate
  • to taste of canned tangerines to decorate
  • to taste of Fresh mint to decorate

    Preparation

    For the ice cream, in a bowl beat the yolks with the sugar until white.
    Heat the milk with vanilla in a saucepan over medium heat until it boils. Add some of the milk to the yolk mixture and beat to temper.
    Pour the yolk mixture into the pot and cook for about 10 minutes or until thick. Cool immediately.
    With a blender, beat the whipping cream until it forms smooth peaks. Fold the vanilla sauce. Freeze until the ice cream is firm moving the mixture from time to time.
    On an extended plate, place two pieces of Divided into Tia Rosa® Tiny Strips and add a little ice cream. Spread gently, but working fast to not completely thaw the ice cream.
    Cover with two more pieces of Divided in Tia Rosa® Golden Strips and repeat until you have 2 layers of ice cream. Freeze 1 hour more.
    Remove the freezing cake and decorate with whipped cream, red fruits, mandarin segments and mint leaves. Cut and enjoy.

    PRESENTATION

    Serve a slice of Mil Hojas and garnish with whipped cream and fruit.

    TIPS

    The term "whitening" when speaking of yolks with sugar, refers to vigorously beating so that the yolks sponge and change color to pale yellow. This incorporates air and adds volume to the preparation.
