Serve a strawberry jam empanadas as a dessert or an afternoon coffee as they are ideal to accompany a hot drink.

  • 1 kilo flour
  • 1/2 kilos vegetable shortening
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 250 milliliters milk
  • strawberry jams
  • 1 egg, to varnish


For the dough: We sift all the dry ingredients: flour, sugar and salt. Mix with the butter and undo it with your fingers until it crumbles and has a sandy consistency. We empty the milk and form a soft paste.
With the help of a rolling pin, spread the dough and cut with a circular cutter. Fill the empanadas with the jam and fold. With a fork we close the edge of our empanada so that it does not open at the time of baking and it also serves as an ornament.
We preheat the oven to 175-200 ° C. Arrange the empanadas in a greased and floured tray. Varnish with the egg and bake until golden brown.


Sprinkle with powdered sugar.

Felix, para barnizar con el huevo, coloca en un bowl el huevo y mezcla ligeramente con un tenedor una vez que este listo con ayuda de una brocha barniza las empanadas para que estas tengan un color doradito. Saludos :D

Sonia, quizás amasaste demasiado la masa y es por eso que se resecan o las dejaste mucho tiempo en el horno y esto hizo que perdieran agua. Saludos :D

se desbaratan las mias :( buenas tardes quisiera consejos ya q hago mis empanadas y de resecan mucho q se rompen parecen polvoron q hice mal plss ayuda muchas gracias
