Stuffed Chocolate Tamales

Because we love tamales, now we add our favorite ingredient, bitter chocolate. Try these fluffy tamales with nuts and a rich butter flavor. They are completely delicious!

Ingredients

  • 4 cups of Water hot
  • 20 pieces of corn leaf
  • 2 cups of Butter
  • 1 1/2 cups of sugar
  • 8 cups of flour for tamales
  • 1 teaspoonful of Salt
  • 1 teaspoonful of Rexal® Baking Powder
  • 1/2 Cup of milk
  • 2 cups of nut finely chopped
  • 300 grams of bitter chocolate chopped

    Preparation

    In a bowl, soak the corn leaves in hot water for 15 minutes or until softened. Reservation.
    Beat the butter, with the sugar until it is creamy and change color.
    Add little by little the tamales flour, the salt, the Rexal® Baking Powder, the milk and the nut. Beat until fully integrated.
    Place two tablespoons of dough on a tamale sheet and add chocolate in the center, close.
    Cook in a steamer and for 1 hour or until cooked.

    PRESENTATION

    On a plate accompanied by an atole of amaranth.
